Fishermen’s Seafood Market opened in June, 2010 by my wife Denise and I. As a painting contractor that needed some way to supplement an income on the rainy days (which we have so often here on the Oregon Coast), a small commercial fishing boat seemed the perfect solution. After many months of losing money selling small catch to large fish plants, I decided to obtain a permit to sell fresh fish directly to the public. After overwhelming success distributing off the Coos Bay City Docks there was an obvious need a fresh fish market in town -and that would be a great opportunity to share my Fish and Chips and Clam Chowder!-
    So one morning Denise and I wrote a proposal to the city to open our very own floating fish market in the Coos Bay. To our amazement they thought it was a great idea and gave us support. So after some more months of hard work jumping through hoops and building, we towed our new market up the river from Charleston to the downtown boardwalk where it floats now.
    The feedback on our food and fresh product has been absolutely amazing and we want to say thank you to all our loyal customers and travelers stopping by on your way through the coast. You’ve made it so worth it! So if you haven’t been down to see us we’d love to have you!
